Simon Knight Mahseer Report

English Angler “ Simon Knight “ booked his first Mahseer fishing holiday for Feb ,2010, The trip was organized to fish in lower parts of Ramganga, During the trip Simon fished in frequently baited pools of the river & the results were straight on to start with he hooked a 5 lbs Golden trophy & continued to catch several fish upto 10 lbs.
On 02 nd day of this trip team visited a Mahseer pool & spotted something strange, It was a carcuss of a big bull, which had become pray to a large male Tiger. It was freaking experience to fish right in the tiger country.  On same day he crossed the small section of Ramganga river to climb up to rock to see the location of Elusive Mahseer & what we saw was truly amazing , It was a wide & dip pool hold at least 100 fish, out of which around 20 fish scaling upto 30 lbs & few well over 60 lbs.
Simon during his trip caught 17 fish, scaling to 18 lbs. With several bites which were not converted in catch.

After a successful 3 days of Mahseer fishing, Simon took his way to look for wild tigers, during 01 full day of safari in Corbett national , we spotted big herds of Spotted deer , Sambar deer , Barking deer , Wild boar , & group of wild Asiatic Elephants.  During wildlife safari there around 100 species of birds sighted among which the highlights were Vultures , Changeable Hawk eagle , Great Hornbill & Brown fish owl. Explore the park for full day was still no signs of strips , there were numerous Tiger pugmarks seem.
On it was sunset time, and we were planning to move out of National park area, but all of a sudden there were calls of deer, which made us to hang on for while in grassland & all of a sudden we spotted a big golden shadow moving in the dry grassland. We waited for a while & here it was a full grown tigeress moved out of grassland. What an experience it was .
It was a another success trip with 17 Mahseer & a Tiger.
